Sandy Kennedy leads the Global Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, and Sustainability team at Fortrea. In this position she is responsible for regulatory compliance and quality units across all phases (I-IV) and functions at Fortrea. Sandy is a veteran of the biopharmaceutical development industry with a proven track record of leadership in positions within the pharmaceutical and CRO environments.

Sandy is certified in Regulatory Affairs (RAC), Healthcare Compliance, and by the Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics. She has served as a member of several industry associations and is Fortrea’s board representative for the Association of Contract Research Organizations (ACRO) and as co-chair on the ACRO Forum with TransCelerate. Sandy has been recognized with RTP Women in Bio initiative for board leadership. Previously Ms. Kennedy was with Quintiles where she was employed for 20 years.

In addition to her position leading the Compliance and Quality team, she was a member of the Enterprise Compliance Office and the Compliance Management Committee. Sandy was a founding member of the Quintiles Data Privacy Board (Council on Data Protection) and served as Vice-Chairman of the Ethics Board (Council on Research Ethics). Throughout her career, Sandy has demonstrated her passion for developing and progressing women in their careers and life. She has been a leader in the respective women’s ERG at every company in which she has worked.

Sandy served on the RTP Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Dress for Success, which works to empower women to achieve economic independence to thrive in work and in life. Ms. Kennedy holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology with minors in biology and chemistry from Lipscomb University. Sandy currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Trinity School of Durham & Chapel Hill.
